A warm sunny day welcomed the 2007 SCAA social to York, South Carolina. Winthrop history professor and York Mayor Eddie Lee, Ph.D. led the group on a tour of York including the Winter Quarters of Barnett Brother Circus and the Rock Barn, which housed the circus animals. Lunch at the Garden Cafe provided a much needed respite before our afternoon at the McCelvey Historical Center. SCAA Member Nancy Sambets gave a presentation on the history of the McCelvey Center building and the day ended with a tour of the building and the collection.
